In Home Care
In Home Care is a special sort of early education for families:
Who live too far away from a childcare centre
Who work shift work
Who have challenging or complex needs
NSW In Home Childcare Services is the largest and longest operating In Home Care service in Australia. We provide In Home Care across NSW, and have done for almost 20 years.
We keep our fees as low as possible
NSW In Home Childcare Services has one of the lowest fees for In Home Care in NSW. Because we are not-for-profit we can do this.
Educators working with NSW In Home Childcare Services are all independent contractors who set their own fees, but most choose to stay within our recommended fee range of:
$27- $31 per hour
+ $6 per hour administration levy. This fee is then reduced by the amount of Child Care Subsidy or Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) a family is eligible for.
Depending on a family’s income and circumstances they could be eligible for a maximum Child Care Subsidy of up to $27.20 per hour or $38.40 per hour if they are eligible for Additional Child Care Subsidy.
Child Care Subsidy
Only families that are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy can use In Home Care.
The Australian Government provides the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help reduce the cost of childcare for families. Depending on a family’s income and circumstances they could be eligible for a childcare subsidy of up to $27.20 per hour or $38.40 per hour if they are eligible for Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS).
You apply for Child Care Subsidy through a myGov account. If you can’t do this call the Centrelink Families’ line on 136 150.
NSW In Home Childcare Service can help families who chose us as their In Home Care provider to access CCSS.
When do you need care?
Before & after school
To match your shifts
NSW In Home Childcare Services can provide an educator to care for your children in your home when you need them. Some families use just a few hours a week. Others may have an educator with them 50 hours a week. The program is designed to provide your family with the care it needs.
(Some restrictions apply on the amount of Child Care Subsidy families are eligible for – the hours of subsidised care you can get per fortnight depends on the hours of recognised activities you do.)
NSW In Home Childcare Services educators are the best
Once we know your needs, we search for an educator to match them and match your family.
An educator is going to be working in your house, with your children. We understand that this is big.
That’s why we work to get the right educator for your family.
All of our educators have:
- experience as an educator
- a Certificate III in Education and Care, or a Diploma, or a teaching degree
- a first aid certificate
- Working With Children Checks AND National Police Checks
In Home Care is an education and care program. That means the person caring for your child isn’t just a babysitter – she is a qualified educator.
If your child is under school age the educator will be following the Early Years Learning Framework – the exact same curriculum used in preschools. And if they are school aged, they will be following My Time Our Place – the Curriculum Framework for School Aged Care.
The important thing about both of these curriculums are that they are play based – so while your child plays, they learn.
'Play is our brain's favourite way of learning.'Diane Ackerman
